Accesories Edit | Western Wear

Friday, July 31, 2015

We all know I have a thing for unique accessories, and when I realized that this Western influence is happening on different looks, I dived right in. I am seriously digging the cowgirl look. You've seen the belts all over Instagram, the ones with the vintage-western buckle, like the one above. I actually got this one at a leather store in Boston, but the brand is Chacón. That one above is the black bison belt. It's so beautiful. I also had some Hare and Hart bone bangles that I thought would fit right into the whole "western wear" theme. They are sold out, but there are definitely similar options you can find if you just look hard enough.

I also recently talked a bit about this leather pony tail wrap via Nastygal that is all about the cowgirl look. I love putting my hair into a low pony tail and putting the wrap around it. It gives me a tougher look when I am feeling edgier. My nextt accessory is the brown studded wrap bracelet. I bought it at a store called December Thieves located in Boston. They have the BEST accessories ever. Their jewelry is amazing and everything is of highest quality. Lastly, I've been digging hats with super wide brims. This brown one from Forever 21 can be found almost anywhere.

What do you think of the Western trend?

July Favorites

Shoes : Zara | Belt : Topshop | Choker : Anita K via Nasty Gal | Nail Polish : Essie's 'Find Me An Oasis' | Highlighter : Champagne Pop | Eye Balm : One Love Organics | Ponytail Wrap : Jakimac via Nasty Gal

These are my July favorites people! I think favorites posts are some of my favorite to do. I like gathering up little knick-knacks that I've been into the past month, it's like a mini-reflection. The different pieces bring me back to why I bought them and loved them so much. It sounds a little nuts, but it's fun for me. I have been wearing the espadrilles non-stop. I LOVE how they are pointed, and the suede is a nice touch. I have also been loving this belt. I have seen similar belts on other bloggers and think the western vibe is super cool. For small accessories, I have paired this gold choker with just about every outfit, and this leather pony-tail wrap has been such touch on any outfit.

For beauty, I haven't switched it up too much, but this One Love Organics eye cream is amazing so far. It moisturizes and brightens, which is perfect for my dark under-eyes. For a nice glow, I've been using Becca x Jaclyn Hill's Champagne Pop. It's a shimmery gold, and perfect for summer time.

(p.s I've been working non-stop and it's bumming me out. I'll do a style post tomorrow!)

Denim on Denim

Top : Zara | Jeans : Frame Denim | Shoes : Zara | Sunglasses : Super Sunglasses |

I think this is one of my favorite ways to pair denim on denim. I love pairing a darker colored top, like this off the shoulder one, with some light jeans for contrast. I topped the look off with some pointy espadrilles and my favorite sunnies!

My Trip To Follain

Tuesday, July 21, 2015

So yesterday I took a trip to Charles Street in Boston after driving my boyfriend into work. I absolutely love Charles Street, it's extremely quaint and has the cutest store fronts. I walked into a couple of stores, but what I really came to check out was the healthy beauty store Follain, which means "healthy, wholesome and sound" in Gaelic. I had seen some beautiful pictures on Instagram of the interior, and knew it was right up my alley. I was not disappointed walking inside either. The decor is a dream. White tile, marble tables, and a beautiful hard-wood floor. The girls working were super nice, and extremely helpful since I was the only one in there. They informed me that they carry over 40 different brands on haircare, skincare, and make-up.
I ended up picking up some of their all-natural cucumber soap, a Lite + Cycle candle which smells amazing, and a new eye cream.

Lite + Cycle 'Vetiver' Candle (not on the Follain website; I just linked Lite + Cycle)

All Natural Soap (I got cucumber)

You should definitely pop over there if you haven't already! They currently have stores in Beacon Hill, the South End, Nantucket and Washington DC!

Beauty Edit | Brush Line-Up

Saturday, July 18, 2015

Ladies and Gentlemen, these are my current brushes in rotation. I don't really buy brushes too often. I find one or some I really like and use the hell out of it. I talk about the same brushes all the time ( i.e Nars Ita and/or Morphe's 439). I don't use them all every single day, there are some days I'll just put concealer and mascara on. Also, way too lazy to link all these, if you google, they'll most likely pop right up :)

Face -

From left to right : Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection Powder Brush | MAC 268 | Nars Blush Brush (sold out) | Nars Mie Kabuki | Morphe #439

I use the Morphe brush for foundation, and the Nars Blush Brush for blush (duh). I use the Real Techniques brush for powder and the MAC brush for contouring. I then use the Mie Kabuki  for highlighting because of its tapered end. I play around a lot with the brushes I have and don't grab for the same exact face brushes everyday, but this is the average reach.

Eyes -
From left to right : Makeup Forever #242 | Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection Angled Liner Brush | Zoeva Petit Blender | Lancome (so old all the writing wore off, sorry!)

I'll usually use the small blending brush to pack on my shadows then blend it out with the fluffy brush. I use the Lancome brush for days when I just want some dark brown shadows lining my lower lash line for some definition, and the smaller angled brush for smudging it out.

Brows -

Makeup Forever #274

After I fill it my brows with my Brow Wiz, I blend the product with the bristle side.

What do you use on a daily basis for brushes?

Sunglasses : Super Sunglasses | Tank : Acne Studios | Shorts : Forever 21 | Belt : Target | Bag : H&M | Shoes : Zara | Necklaces : Forever 21 (similar) |

I was sort of lacking a bit of inspiration when I get dressed this morning, and thought this outfit fit, as in it didn't take much effort. I have never really paired shorts with ankle boots, but love the outcome. What do you think?

Quick Update

Wednesday, July 15, 2015

Hey People!

So I just got back from a quick little vacation to Martha's Vineyard. I went from Thursday to Monday, and boy was it such a good time. I went with my boyfriend and his mom. We stayed at his cousin's house right in Edgartown and let me tell you, the house was GORGEOUS. We went to the beach, went out to beautiful dinners, shopped and drank in excessive amounts (acceptable when you're on vacation). I had seriously such a relaxing and laid-back weekend. I needed it. I documented a lot of my stay on the island through Snapchat. My username is evahynes if you guys want to follow me. I sort of snap a lot, so be warned! I also stay pretty active on Instagram and Twitter every single day. My links are on the right hand side!

On another note, I will be blogging Friday. I want to try to format at least 3 posts, so I can schedule them to post over the weekend. I hate being inconsistent, and really strive to post at least twice a week! Thanks for being patient!

Dress : Forever 21 | Boots : Vince Camuto | Sunglasses : Super Sunglasses

I am definitely more of a shorts and tank top sort of girl, but I've really been digging dresses lately. They're so easy to wear and accessorize. I picked up these gem from Forever 21 a couple of days ago because it seriously just looked so effortless, and I wasn't disappointed. I can't seem to find it online but I will keep looking!

June Favorites

Wednesday, July 1, 2015

Here are my June favorites! I haven't been buying like crazy amounts of things, so there isn't too much to share. I've been loving my neck scarf. It's so easy to throw on and it instantly gives any look a perfected touch. I've also been wearing soft triangle bras non-stop. I hate regular bras, and my chest isn't huge, so I can get away with it. Plus, I love the way they look layered under a tank.

I've also been non-stop wearing these sunglasses by Super Sunglasses. They are just the right amount of vintage looking. I have been wearing these two eyeshadows all month long. They are Urban Decay's "Toasted" and "Midnight Cowgirl". They blend out great, and create a nice neutral eye for everyday.

As you can tell from a couple posts ago, this nail polish by Nails Inc. is giving me life. It's the perfect white neutral shade. I love the formula as well. I recently just bought this eyebrow double-sided brush at Sephora. It's pretty much like any eyebrow brush, but it does blend the product out nicely. I had never owned an eyebrow brush (except for the ones on the Brow Wiz) and thought I would invest in a heavier duty one. I am loving it. My last favorite is the Kate Somerville "Eradikate" acne treatment. I've been having really big issues with pimples lately, and this formula does a nice job at zapping them in a short time span.
