The NARS Kabuki Ita. I have been trying to get my hands on this brush for about a century now. It was "unavailable" on the NARS website for so so long, and they were going on eBay for over $100, which wasn't an option. There was no way I was spending over $100 on a make-up brush. But, as it turns out, I was browsing Twitter a little over two weeks ago, and the NARS twitter page said that the Ita was being re-stocked in their Madison Avenue flagship store! I was ecstatic! I called the store right away and asked if they could ship one to my house. They took down my name and said they would give me a call right back. Low and behold, they never called me back, so it was back to square 1.
A few days after NARS tweeted that their Madison Avenue store restocked the brush, they tweeted again that their online store restocked it as well!!! I immediately went online and scooped it up. It came about a week later and I fell in love. Ladies, if you're looking for a brush to create a perfect contour with, look no further. The bristles are so soft and sweeping the brush in an upward motion RIGHT below the cheekbones. Sometimes I will use my NARS matte multiple in Cappadoce, which is a creamy bronzer and use the Ita to blend. I usually use my NARS Laguna bronzer though, since it is more subtle, and blend away.
I use my Ita a lot with the NARS cheek palette that was released last year I think? It comes with a beautiful highlighter, Orgasm blush and Laguna bronzer. I first use my NARS blush brush to sweep on Orgasm right on the apples of my cheeks, then I'll go in with the highlighter right on my cheek bones and sweep in up towards my temples. Then I will use my Ita Kabuki and pack some Laguna on there and contour right under my cheekbones, my temples and sometimes along my nose. I do not contour often, because it's such a defined look. I never want to look like I have THAT much make-up on, unless I'm going out or somewhere that requires I look extremely put together. I love this brush and the width of the bristles make for a perfect contour every time. After I do contour, I always use my powder brush to blend out any harsh lines.
All in all, the NARS Kabuki Ita brush is a must-have in anyone's brush collection. It's a multi-use tool and well worth the money. It sells for $55 on the NARS website. You can buy the cheek palette on Sephora.com for $49. This brush has made my contour so much cleaner and definitely more defined. I'm obsessed!
