July Favorites!

Thursday, July 31, 2014

Hey Everyone!

I can NOT believe that July is over. This summer is flying by, and I'm not happy about it. I am DREADING going back to school, and working along with balancing my boyfriend, friends, family and this blog. I love being creative and outsourcing my ideas, but school is so time consuming, and I hate when I have to make a decision about doing school work or creating ideas for my blog. I mean obviously the smarter choice is school, but I don't always see it that way, which is why school makes everything  more complicated.

Anyways, enough of the boing school talk and on to my July favorites! July was a fun month. I worked like a dog, but I also did some fun things. I actually JUST got back from a trip to Newport, RI with my boyfriend and it was so much fun! We walked around downtown, went to a casino, toured the incredible mansions, and just took the scenery in. I would live in Newport in half a second. The shopping is great, the beaches are beautiful and the restaurants are on another level. I loved every second of it.

Once again, getting sidetracked....

So before I ramble more here are my July beauty favorites!

July Beauty Favorites

My first favorite is the NARS Kabuki Ita brush. I did a review of this brush not too long ago, and I just love it. It's so so perfect for contouring and highlighting. I can't get enough of it. The slim width of the brush gives the bristles a perfect angle to create the sculpted look on your face when you are contouring. I use it everyday and it was well worth the $55.
Next is the Lorac Pro Palette. I got this palette not too long ago and I'm just obsessed. I've used it for like two weeks straight, and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. I love the shimmer shades. They blend beautifully and the neutral colors are right up my alley.
My next favorite is the eos Shaving Cream. I love this stuff! I have the pomegranate raspberry scent and it smells AMAZING! It doesn't foam like a regular shaving cream, but it still leaves the legs super smooth and moisturized. What I love about this cream is you can use it either wet or dry, so if you are in a hurry you can shave your legs on the go!
Next is the NARS Cleansing Milk. I love this stuff. It has a citrus scent to it and is perfect for my sensitive skin. It leaves my skin feeling super soft after I massage a couple of pumps onto my face and it has definitely improved my skins texture over time.
Next is the Make-Up Forever #242 Blending Brush. I have been using this baby non-stop for the past month! It blends out my shadows beautifully and makes everything come together perfectly. It's a larger blending brush so the control is limited, but it's still a favorite for sure.
My last beauty favorite is the Fresh Sugar Balm. I use this balm every single day. I picked up my latest tube of this recently but I've used it before. It's so moisturizing and it smells amazing! It's a tad pricey, at $25, but the quality is incomparable and your lips stay soft for a long time!

Now onto my fashion favorites!

july fashion favorites
I didn't have too much to share for my fashion favorites because I've been trying to keep the shopping to a minimum.

Anyways, I've been loving rings (as usual). I always have on at LEAST 6. I wear the Lillot pearl ring every time I go somewhere fancy, or I just feel like being extra chic that day, haha. I am loving pearls at the moment and this ring looks amazing stacked with other rings, or just by itself. You can buy it on the Alekka website and I believe its $60. Another ring I've been loving is this Gorjana midi ring. I bought this on Shopbop and have been OBSESSED. I wear it stacked with other rings and it looks so chic.
I have also been loving my Topshop oversized chambray blouse. I wear it with everything. I wore it the other day with a pair of distressed denim shorts or I've worn it with a pair of white J Brands. The possibilities are endless, which is why I love this shirt. You can pair it with literally everything. It's perfect.
I've also been obsessed with my white shirt-dress from Zara. I wore it in a recent outfit post and it's been in my rotation non-stop. You can dress it either up or down, and I love the versatility of it. I've been wearing it a lot with strappy sandals. I also have worn it with heels and it looked equally as good.
My last fashion favorite are my Nastygal loafers. I bought these recently, but I've become OBSESSED. They are so fun and easy to wear. They look great with a dress, or with boyfriend jeans. I love the snakeskin texture and print as well. They were on sale, and such a good pick-up. Loafers are so in at the moment and I'm happy I scooped these up when I did.

What are some of your July favorites?!

Mini Sephora Haul

Monday, July 28, 2014

Hey All!

So today I had to drop my boyfriend off at work in Boston and I kept telling myself I would NOT drive over to the Back Bay and go to the Prudential Center. It's a dangerous, dangerous place. To keep a long story short, I blacked out and ended up parked on Newbury Street. I reluctantly got out of my car and walked over to the mall. I don't know why I went further into Boston because it was so damn hot. I was sweating just walking from my car to the mall, which was no more than a five minute walk.

Anyways, I walked into Sephora and told myself I was going no further into the mall. I did need some things, but I was mostly just walking around checking stuff out. I wanted to buy the new Marc Jacobs Daisy Dreams perfume so bad, but I couldn't justify it. I have so many perfumes I don't even use. I need to use up my Lola and then hopefully I'll make the splurge.

These are the products I picked up! Some of them were repeat purchases, actually all were but two. I'm just going to go through each product and my opinion on it!

I'm pretty sure everyone knows I wear this mascara religiously. The packaging is amazing. It's so sleek and I love the silver color. It also is the only mascara that has ever lengthened my lashes to the point where I've noticed. Other mascara's are okay, but I never had really noticed a huge difference. The first time I used this product, I was sold. It volumizes and lengthens in just a couple of swipes onto the lashes. I've been using this mascara for almost two years and I don't see myself using anything else in the near future.

This is also a repeat purchase for me. I've gone through like 5 of these bottles of concealer. This is seriously my holy grail. I carry it with me EVERYWHERE, and for a $30 bottle of concealer, it's pretty darn worth it. The formula is so creamy and it hides all of my imperfections perfectly. I use the shade 'Vanilla' and it is a perfect match. I just dab a little here and there after I apply my foundation, and my face looks as good as new. My blemishes are covered, my baggy eyes are concealed, and I'm ready for the day!

This is not my first Fresh product, but this is my first tube of the original Sugar lipbalm. I have another lipbalm that is colored, and I'm not a huge fan of tinted lipbalms. I don't know why, I would much rather a gloss or a lipstick. This balm is clear and I've used it twice and I can already feel how my lips are much softer. I don't use lipbalm as often as I should, and I think this will change that. The packaging is cute, and I like how the top is a screw-on. It's a little pricey at $25, but I know I'll get my moneys worth out of this.

This is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel. I got a sample size of this in my Birchbox and have been obsessed ever since. I did buy a Milani brow gel, and the quality wasn't even comparable. This gel really seals and locks in not only the shape of your brows, but the color as well. Being a girl with very little natural brow, I fill mine in everyday with the Brow Wiz. After filling in, I use this gel to brush through my brows and lock them in. The gel makes them last all day long and it was seriously a no brainer purchasing the full version at only $22.

The last thing I purchased was a NARS eyeshadow duo in Key Largo. I recently saw Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere create a beautiful eye look with this duo and immediately wanted it. Both shades are beautiful and I can't wait to create some looks with it. I am definitely a neutral toned shadow type of girl and I thought this duo was perfect for my collection. They're a little pricey at $35 for the duo, but each pan is a pretty good size, and the mirror is an added plus.

What are some recent beauty purchases you have made?

Collared and DIstressed

Friday, July 25, 2014

Hey All!

I hope you're all having a lovely Friday! I have the next two weeks off from work and I could not be happier! I don't even know what I'm going to do with myself. Brunch? Watch TV? Shop? Do normal things that humans do when they don't work 65 hours a week? I don't know the possibilities are endless!

Anyways, I threw this on today and loved the silhouette on me. I'm loving the silky collared blouse with the distressed denim shorts. I love mixing feminine with tomboyish. This outfit is exactly that. I paired some distressed UNIF shorts with a nude Equipment blouse. I did a little accessorizing and VOILA! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Beachin' It

Wednesday, July 23, 2014

Hey All!

So today I was over my boyfriend's house and he lives right across the street from the beach so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to snag some pictures of my outfit for today. I love the backdrop and the lighting was great. The quality isn't spectacular but I think they came out good for being taken on a phone! I lovedddd this outfit. It's so comfortable and lightweight. It just looks so sweet and is a modern take on 50's trends. I actually have to fight a speeding ticket tomorrow morning, so I might just wear this same outfit because it's dressy, but the strappy sandals give it a more casual vibe. Obsessed.

What are some of your favorite summer looks that you've styled so far? Do you have a summer uniform or are you constantly changing it up? I'd love to know!

Outfit Of The Day

Tuesday, July 22, 2014

Hey All!

So here is what I'm wearing today. A very simple white dress, some loafers, and a quick shoulder bag for on the go.... Loving this outfit. I don't wear dresses very often, so this is a nice change for me. I love the idea of just a simple shift dress with some jazzy shoes. It keeps the outfit understated, yet still fun. I'm LOVING these loafers from Nastygal. They are so comfortable and put a bit of fun into anything I'm wearing. I also created an eye look with my MAC "Look In A Box" I received from Nordstrom, and completely forgot to take off my sunglasses so everyone could see it. Lol. I think I'll post an Instagram on it later, so stay tuned!

Anyways, enjoy my look and don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin!

PS. My mom and I are going to a camera store soon to see if we can get a better lens for my stupid camera. So hopefully better quality pictures to come!

Highlights : Repossi

Saturday, July 19, 2014

Hey Everyone!

Very VERY unlike me to post on a Saturday night. I just got out of work. I was there from 11 in the morning until 11:30 at night. Craziness. No one should have to go through that. Anyways, I was just browsing my blogger dashboard and saw a post that Habitually Chic posted earlier today. She talked about the new Repossi advertisements for their fall campaign. The jewelry is like nothing I've ever seen, it's so beautiful and exquisitely crafted. I would LOVE to be able to afford a piece but the price ranges are in the thousands...

I re-posted the ads below. How GORGEOUS is that choker in the last picture!? I also love the bangles that look similiar. Ugh, a girl can dream....

Product Review : MAC Look In A Box

Friday, July 18, 2014

Hey All!

So today I have a little product review for you all! I am obviously a Nordstrom card holder, so I went on to their website and shopped around a little at their anniversary sale that for a couple days, only card-members have access to. Honestly, the sale wasn't that great. The prices weren't good and the stuff was very so-so. I seriously only found three things that I liked. I picked up a really cute Topshop midi skirt, and a MAC boxset, which I'm talking about today. I also LOVED this Loeffler Randall clutch but it was $200 on sale, and that was just a little out of my price range.

Anyways, I just got this Look In A Box in the mail, and it's amazing! It was only $35 for a full sized lipstick, lipgloss, eyeliner, and three eye shadows! I got the "All About Coral" palette, and it really is beautiful. Perfect for summer. I see myself constantly buying coral shaded lipsticks and lip colors. I don't know what it is, but I love coral lips. I think they're so summery, and just give an instant pop to any face look....

First off, the packaging is great. The four products come in a cute petite box with all products displayed on the front panel of the box. You open up the box, and the products are placed in uniquely shaped cut-outs that fit the product perfectly, which I thought was a really nice touch.

The lipstick and gloss obviously match perfectly when applied onto the lips. I doubt I need to explain the quality of MAC lipsticks and glosses, since I bet most of you already know. The lipstick is lustre, and the gloss is shimmery.

I love the eyeliner. It's the color "brownborder" and it looks GREAT when applied with the shadows. The eye look is supposed to be smokey and understated, since the lip color is so bold. The shadows are also lovely. They swatched beautifully and the colors are so bold and pigmented. I can't wait for another outfit post, so I can show you guys how I create the eye look with the shadows and liner. The mini-palette is the "Collective Chic" palette. I tried looking for the individual names for the shadows, but to no avail. I highly recommend you guys pick up a "Look In The Box" from the Nordstrom sale! They're so affordable, and you get some great products that will when applied together will create a flawless look! Thanks MAC for this ingenious idea!

Quick OOTD

Wednesday, July 16, 2014

Hey All!

So today has been rainy and sort of dreary. I'm off to breakfast (at almost 1 PM) with my boyfriend and decided to document my outfit really quickly. It's simple, comfortable and perfect for running errands. I love the trousers, they're so different than my normal boyfriend jeans. I am always willing to try something different when it comes to staples. A pair of khaki trousers for everyday wear is definitely a staple. They look great with slides, like these Vince ones paired below. I love how the soft silhouette of the trousers is contrasted with the hard edges of the slides. And of course, can't forget my beloved bucket bag!

Short Lil Ulta Haul

Monday, July 14, 2014

Hey All!
So today before work, I stopped at Ulta. My main reason for going was absolutely nothing. I just sometimes every once in a while get this strong urge to go to Ulta. It doesn't even come close to Sephora, but my local Ulta is way closer to my house and there is a huge parking lot unlike the one in Boston, where you have to pay to park your car in a garage, or find street parking (which is next to impossible). Anyways, I had one of those urges this morning, and worked really hard this weekend, so I decided to treat myself. I really wanted the Lorac Pro Palette, but every time I go, it's sold out. I decided to go in to see if any were in stock.

Alas! There was ONE left. I grabbed it immediately. I practically ran over to the Lorac counter when I walked inside. I finally got the palette I've been drooling over for at least a year. I am so happy! So after my victory I walked around a little and grabbed a few more things...

I seem to be running out of my Anastasia Brow Wiz very quickly these days. I like bolder brows, so the pencil goes very quickly. I grabbed another in my usual shade, caramel. I have brownish-auburn hair, so the caramel matches quite nicely. I also picked up one of the Lorac Ego lipsticks. I got the shade "girl next door", which is like a pink-nude. I tried on a couple of others, but that was the only one I really liked. I've never tried a Lorac lipstick, so I thought I would give one a try. The last product I got was the Living Proof Restore Mask Treatment for my hair. I haven't deep conditioned my hair in like a year. I know, it's terrible. I just forget to do it/ I ran out of deep conditioner and never thought to buy more. My ends have been so dry lately, so I'm hoping this treatment restores more moisture. I got the 4 ounce tub and it was $24, which isn't terrible.

I can't wait to try the palette, lipstick and mask treatment! I will report back with my opinion!

Recent Buys: Sale Season

Friday, July 11, 2014

Hey All!

So I did a post like this last year, or maybe two years ago now!? I don't know, it's hard to keep up with this thing in general, like most of you all know. I have issues with making a commitment. Anyway, sale season is here! If you are eyeing that lace dress, buy it. Eyeing that gorgeous pair of d'orsay heels you've been wanting forever? Buy them. They are most likely on sale right this very minute, and if they're not, then that retailer sucks. Mid-July is when the most sales on websites and usually in stores as well tend to happen.

I picked up a couple of things online today, since I hadn't boughten anything in a while. I treated myself for working almost 70 hours this week at work. I haven't even had a minute to think about anything never mind shop. Although a lot of stuff is already sold out, I managed to score some great finds on Zara, NastyGal, and H&M...

recently

I can not wait to wear the trousers with just a loose-fitting white t-shirt and some strappy sandals. I love loose fitting clothing and this pants were obviously no exception. I also picked up a shirt dress from Zara, that is just a basic and will be so versatile. I'll pair it with possibly a denim jacket and some booties, or even belt it with some sandals for a more relaxed look. My favorite buy was the loafers. They're so cool! I was seriously on seven different websites looking at loafers and then I came across these. I didn't want to spend more than $50 and these were $55 I think. They're a patterned snake skin print and they're going to look so good with ripped jeans, a baggy t-shirt and a structured jacket. I also got the H&M slip-ons because they are so simple and cute. They can obviously be worn with absolutely anything and I know I'll get so much use out of them. Last but not least are these beautiful UNIF de-constructed shorts. They're ripped, torn and fabulous. I love the worn in look and they look a tad like a diaper in the picture, but I swear they're longer on the models in the photos. I actually saw them on Danielle of WeWoreWhat and bought them immediately. They were actually on sale for $44 on NastyGal which was such a score!

What did you pick up during sale season!?

Product Review: NARS Ita Kabuki Brush

Tuesday, July 8, 2014

The NARS Kabuki Ita. I have been trying to get my hands on this brush for about a century now. It was "unavailable" on the NARS website for so so long, and they were going on eBay for over $100, which wasn't an option. There was no way I was spending over $100 on a make-up brush. But, as it turns out, I was browsing Twitter a little over two weeks ago, and the NARS twitter page said that the Ita was being re-stocked in their Madison Avenue flagship store! I was ecstatic! I called the store right away and asked if they could ship one to my house. They took down my name and said they would give me a call right back. Low and behold, they never called me back, so it was back to square 1.

A few days after NARS tweeted that their Madison Avenue store restocked the brush, they tweeted again that their online store restocked it as well!!! I immediately went online and scooped it up. It came about a week later and I fell in love. Ladies, if you're looking for a brush to create a perfect contour with, look no further. The bristles are so soft and sweeping the brush in an upward motion RIGHT below the cheekbones. Sometimes I will use my NARS matte multiple in Cappadoce, which is a creamy bronzer and use the Ita to blend. I usually use my NARS Laguna bronzer though, since it is more subtle, and blend away.

I use my Ita a lot with the NARS cheek palette that was released last year I think? It comes with a beautiful highlighter, Orgasm blush and Laguna bronzer. I first use my NARS blush brush to sweep on Orgasm right on the apples of my cheeks, then I'll go in with the highlighter right on my cheek bones and sweep in up towards my temples. Then I will use my Ita Kabuki and pack some Laguna on there and contour right under my cheekbones, my temples and sometimes along my nose. I do not contour often, because it's such a defined look. I never want to look like I have THAT much make-up on, unless I'm going out or somewhere that requires I look extremely put together. I love this brush and the width of the bristles make for a perfect contour every time. After I do contour, I always use my powder brush to blend out any harsh lines.

All in all, the NARS Kabuki Ita brush is a must-have in anyone's brush collection. It's a multi-use tool and well worth the money. It sells for $55 on the NARS website. You can buy the cheek palette on Sephora.com for $49. This brush has made my contour so much cleaner and definitely more defined. I'm obsessed!

SUMMER 2014 LOOKBOOK

Wednesday, July 2, 2014

Why yes,

I know I suck. Summer does some things to me. When I say things, I mean makes me extremely lazy. I get sticky, hot and tired and the last thing I want to do is stand out in the sun while my mom takes pictures, haha.

I suffered through the heat the other day though and styled some outfits for some inspiration. It look me a while to get these six looks right, but I am very happy with the outcome. These shots were fun to shoot and my mom and I had a good time together. I literally had to change in my mom's car like 5 times, so it was definitely challenging doing that with cars driving by and people walking by with their dogs. I need a little cabana for next time. Anyways, I hope you guys like these shots, and I can't wait to do more of these!
