Barely There

Tuesday, June 24, 2014

Hey All!

I managed to drag my lazy ass out of bed and style an outfit. I love this look. It's so comfy and I am loving the sheer top with a bralette underneath. The jeans are also very comfortable and I added an extra pop of fancy with the shoes! Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday! I have some goodies coming in the mail tomorrow so I can not wait to style them and show them to you!

Current Set-up

Friday, June 20, 2014

Hey All!

So I ordered a new make-up organizer for my dresser a couple of days ago. I ordered it off of Amazon for about $40, and I just got it in the mail. I needed a new set-up DESPERATELY. Putting on make-up was getting so boring. I needed something new to get my creative juices flowing. So I just put everything together, and the pictures below are the outcome. I think everything came out well and I can't wait to add some fresh peonies! The pictures aren't great and I need a new camera so badly, but these will do for now!

I am still re-arranging some things, so it is a work in progress. I want some good lighting around my mirror but my walls are plaster so it's hard to hang a picture never mind wire lights. I definitely got a bit inspired but doing this and it keeps things fresh.

On another note, I got back from Provincetown today. I went basically overnight and it was so fun. We went downtown when we first got there and socialized and got pizza. Everything in P-Town closes really early, so by the time my friends and I got there, most bars and clubs were closing for the night. We still had fun and this morning I woke up early and got a great coffee from a little cafe in the town center, and then laid out in the sun for a bit. After everyone woke up, we went to brunch and did a bit of shopping. We went into Marc Jacobs and I didn't buy a thing! I was SHOCKED with myself. We also went into Kiehl's and I got a lip balm and their Micro-Blur Skin Perfecter. I've used it once already and can seriously already see a difference. My skin is smooth as silk and my make-up gets applied perfectly. I also went to a cosmetics store and picked up a Kevyn Aucoin lipstick. We left Provincetown around 1:15 and didn't get back to Boston until 4:30. The traffic was crazy.

More on Monday! Hopefully...

Sweet Summer

Wednesday, June 18, 2014

Hey All!

I followed through with my promise to myself and made time for an outfit post! It is hotter than hell here today, so as you will be able to tell I am extremely sunburnt. I love this outfit. It was so easy to put together and it's extremely comfortable.

Current Skincare Routine

Tuesday, June 17, 2014

Wow. I really suck at posting lately. I thought I would have more to time to post after school and my internship ended, but it seems just the opposite. On my days off, all I want to do is relax. Anyways, here I am! I have been seriously getting into skincare and nourishing my skin. I do have dryer skin so it's of the upmost importance to keep my skin hydrated. Since it is getting very hot where I live, I've also been trying to drink lots of water to flush out toxins and keep my face smooth and soft.
skincare

So, first thing I do is wake up every morning and jump into the shower. While in the shower, I wash with the Dr. Hauschka Lemongrass body oil. It smells amazing and it really calms and soothes my skin. While in the shower, I also exfoliate, but I don't do that everyday, probably once or twice a week. After I get out of the shower, I wash my face with the Dr.Hauschka Cleansing Cream. It washes out all of the dirt in my pores and leaves my face squeaky clean.

When I'm coming in for the night and still have all my make-up on, I use my Neutrogena make-up wipes to get rid of all the liquid make-up and eye make-up to get my skin ready for bed. After my make-up is removed, I use the Ole Henriksen pore-refining wipes. These wipes are great for reducing the size of pores and to get rid of all the grease that builds up on your face throughout the day. After wiping my face down, I use my BodyShop Vitamin E eye cream. This cream reduces the look of puffy and tired eyes. It also helps with discoloration under the eyes which is essential for me. After that, I use my BodyShop shea body butter. I LOVE this stuff. It smells amazing and it moisturizes my skin wonderfully. I'm obsessed. After I moisturize, I use my First Aid Beauty Redness Reduce cream. I have an uneven skintone, so this stuff helps with the redness on my face and evens out my skin.

After that I use my MAC Prep and Prime Moisture Infusion Serum. This keeps my face hydrated throughout the night and is great to put on before applying make-up because it makes the products last longer on the face. My last step is my Lush Celestial moisturizer. I love this stuff. It's so hydrating and it smells amazing. I've been using this for years and I still use it everyday. It's the best.

So there you have it. My current skincare routine. I add and subtract products pretty regularly, but this routine has remained constant for a while. I love changing up my skincare and love trying new products so let me know if you have any suggestions!

Also, I'M FINALLY GOING TO GET MY HANDS ON THE NARS ITA BRUSH. It is stocked in the Madison Avenue store and they're going to ship it to my house. I could cry. I've been trying to get it for 2 years. YAY!

Casual Attire

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

Hey everyone! Sorry it's been a couple of days, I've had a hectic schedule as of late. I work way more than any 22 year old girl should, so blog time is limited. I took these snapshots a while ago, but just got around to touching them up a little and posting them. I do have to work Thursday through Monday this week, but I am hoping to get an outfit post in on Friday, since I will only be working until 5.

These snapshots are just of an outfit I wore to go to the mall and dinner with a friend. I was loving the laid back look, and thought it was just super cute for errands and such.

Weary and Dreary.

Wednesday, June 4, 2014

Wow is it gross out today. It's just cold, windy and not my sort of weather at all. I feel like this always happens to me. I get a day off from work and the weather is always terrible. It's crazy how that stuff works out. Anyways, I've been looking at better cameras recently and am hoping to save up for a new one soon. I want one with a viewfinder, and just overall better quality. I love doing outfit posts, but I feel like my damn iPhone takes better pictures than my Nikon. It's annoying. I am also scouring photo shoot locations. My mom is currently my photographer, so I have to convince her to leave the house, haha. I love the little bush in my backyard, but I think I need a new backdrop.

Anyways, we all know I have a spending problem. But, to cover my ass, it's sale season. I picked up some good finds today. I got this ring today off of Whistles. I LOVE WHISTLES. But they are extremely expensive. It is a UK based brand, and I love all of their stuff. I wish they would open a location in Boston, but I don't think that would benefit me in the long run. I also was browsing Asos earlier and found some goodies. I can justify buying off of Asos because I feel like everything is so rightly priced. I picked up this t-shirt dress for summer. I seriously DO NOT wear dresses, like ever. I love them, but I'm so picky with the fit and the style. I like t-shirt dresses though because they are so easy to dress up and down. I love the pink satin hem and I can already see myself pairing it with my white perforated flats or my pair of black strappy heels. I think it could definitely be accessorized enough to wear to the wedding I'm going to too soon. I also grabbed this bomber jacket. I have heard a lot about Monki, and know that a lot of the European Instagrammers I follow love Monki. The brand sells relatively cheap clothes, but all of their items are pretty chic. I LOVE the jacket, and it looks like a similiar jacket at Topshop I've been lusting after for half the price. I'm excited to receive it and style it in different ways. The last thing I got was this shoulder bag. It was so cheap, and I basically got it for free because Asos was having a "spend $100, and get $15 off" sale. So the dress and jacket literally ended up being $100, so the bag was free. Not bad.

Also I've been on the hunt for the perfect striped tee. I thought I had like 100's of striped t-shirts in my closet, and I guess I was wrong. I seriously do not own one single striped t-shirt. I have a couple of long-sleeved ones. So I've been looking around and am LOVING this APC one.

I love the rose color, and it just looks so soft and cozy.

Happy June!

Tuesday, June 3, 2014

Hey All!

Happy June! I can't believe it's already June. This year is flying by and before I know it I feel like it's gonna be 2015. I am LOVING the warm weather, it gets me in such a good mood. I woke up this morning, and instantly threw on my swimsuit and cover-up and went to lay on my boyfriend's deck. I seriously needed the Vitamin D. My skin is so pale, and I need ANY sort of color that I can get. Anyways, just currently lying in bed and relaxing. I posted a couple of good Instagrams today, so be sure to click my Instagram link and follow me!

Oh, and I sort of went on a bit of a mini haul on Friday with my friend Mike.

I recently discovered The Body Shop and am OBSESSED. They were having a crazy 50% off sale so I picked up a body butter, an exfoliant and an eye cream. I am loving all three so far. I also got a new MAC lipstick. Just a good nude.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Topshop section at Nordstrom. I didn't go too crazy. I just picked up a lovely knit tee, a cropped sweater and some AMAZINGLY comfortable boyfriend jeans. I also picked up a clutch for a wedding I'm going to at the end of the month. So Stella, huh?

Until Tomorrow!
