Hello there!
I am finally back from Florida, and I had such a good time. It was so relaxing, yet we did so much. It started off a bit rough though. First, our flight got delayed about two hours, which was just annoying. Then, an unruly passenger who claimed he was in the military (but was actually on his way to rehab) was badgering the stewardesses, and threatening them. He was telling all of the passengers that he fought for our country, and that they were more then welcomed to "buy him drinks." He also was telling the flight attendants that he was in the military, and asked what he could get for free. Since he was unruly, loud and seriously tried to light a cigarette on the plane, the captain had to divert the plane to Jacksonville to get the disturbance off the plane. We landed, the man was arrested right then and there, and then we had to de-board the plane so the FBI could come question some people. It was a nightmare. Finally, at 2 in the morning (we were supposed to land at 7:30) we got to Fort Lauderdale. You think nothing else could go wrong right? Well it did. JetBlue ended up shipping my boyfriend's suitcase to Philadelphia. Loosing luggage is literally one of my worst fears. The look on his face when he realized his suitcase wasn't coming out of the carousel. It was terrible. Fortunately, JetBlue found his luggage in PA and it was at the Lauderdale airport the next morning.
Anyways, after the horrible beginning, we had a great time. We went to West Palm Beach, Miami, Hollywood, it was amazing. We went to the beach a lot too, just to get some color (or in my case a sunburn) I did so much damn shopping. I don't think I ever went as crazy as I did this trip. I'll try and photograph everything at a later date, but I'll try to remember what I got....
So we went to West Palm Beach and I picked up this amazing textured shirt from Sandro that has a giraffe print too it. I love anything from Sandro and wanted something to add to my wardrobe. It was so cute, and I had to have it. There's a picture on my Instagram if you click the link over to the right. Then I went to Saks and FINALLY picked up two NARS Matte Multiples. I got Exumas, which is a beautiful coral color for my cheeks, and Cappadoce, which is phenomenal for contouring. I use them both everyday, and I am completely obsessed. Then we went to this outdoor mall called City Place. It's beautiful. I went to H&M. I was in there for five minutes and had a handful of stuff. I got a gray leather biker jacket, some snake print slip on's, a white asymmetrical skirt (which you can see in a couple of photos on my Instagram), and a simple white tee that says "Tres Jolie" on it. Then we left West Palm Beach and headed to Del Rey. Atlantic Avenue is full of little shops and restaurants. We weren't exactly hungry yet so we walked around and explored. I have a favorite little boutique there called Periwinkle. They have a ton of cute jewelry. I picked up a shark tooth bangle, which is my new absolute favorite thing ever, and a gold cuff which I have been wearing non-stop.
A few days later we went to the Boca Raton Mall. This mall is HUGE and the stores are amazing. I picked up a new Vince button-down, which can be seen here. I got it at a MAJOR discount, and it cost me next to nothing at Intermix. Then I went to American Apparel and just picked up a plain white tee, and a little chain for my wrist. We then went to a little park in Boca Raton called Mizner Park. There are also some shops and restaurants there as well. We went into this home furnishings store called Z Gallerie, and it's probably the best store I've ever been in. The furnishings were BEAUTIFUL. From the rugs, to the throws, to the artwork, to just everything else. I picked up this deer head for my room. It's on sale, and I've wanted one for so long.I also picked up this picture frame, which is now resting on my shelf with a picture of my best friend and I. I also got this little geo-sphere for my shelfs, just for some new decoration.
On our last full day we went to Miami. We actually were walking down South Beach and saw a huge crowd outside the Versace Mansion. We crossed the street, and asked people what was going on. They said the Kardashians were staying there and were getting ready to leave to go somewhere. Personally, I love the Kardashians. I think they're smart, and totally business saavy. They don't particularly have any "talents", except Kendall, who is a phenomenal model, but they went with an idea ( to create their own boutique, clothing line, beauty line, and kids line) and went with it. Anyways, we waited outside the mansion and saw Scott, Kourtney and Khloe. I got some great pictures. After that, we went to Collins Avenue and did some shopping. I went to Barneys and picked up this T by Alexander Wang t-shirt. It's super cute, and the fabric is so incredibly soft. It's cropped, and will look great with either skinny or boyfriend jeans and my Vince Nina flats. I can't wait to wear it. I also picked up this Acne muscle tee. It's a bit edgier than what I normally wear, but I can't wait to style it. It's different for me, which is what I was aiming for.
We then went to Bal Harbor, which is a luxury shop mall that is about 20 minutes from South Beach. This mall is seriously my dream come true. Some stores include Prada, Chanel, YSL, Versace, Akris, Balenciaga, Chloe, Lanvin, Miu Miu, Stella McCartney, Valentino, Bottega Veneta, Gucci and more. So for me, it's the mall of my dreams. We went into Versace just to look around, and I kid you not, bumped into Scott Disick shopping. It was so weird seeing him on South Beach and then we so happened to see him in Versace. We got a tad nervous to approach him in the store, so we went outside to wait for Scott to finish shopping. The last thing we wanted to do was be rude. So we waited, and he came out of the store with two friends, and my boyfriend approached him and asked for a picture. He was really nice about it, and told us both to have a nice day. It was pretty cool. Then, I went to Neiman Marcus and picked up a navy blue silk short-sleeved Theory blouse, and a J Brand t-shirt, both on sale. Then I went to Scoop and picked up this beautiful Stella McCartney black lace bralette that will look amazing under the Acne muscle tee.
Finally, the last day we were in Florida, we went to Nordstrom Rack in Boca before we went to the airport. Yes, there are Nordstrom Racks where I am, but I knew this would be a good one because people that live in Boca are filthy rich. We went in, and I was checked out within 10 minutes because I needed to leave before blowing every dollar I had. I went in, grabbed a T By Alexander Wang tee, just because it was a beautiful blueish-gray color, a T By Alexander Wang knit, which you will see in my next post, and then I picked up this Equipment blouse. It was marked down so much, that it was such a steal. It's perfect in every way and I can't wait to wear it.
So, there it is, a complete break-down of my vacation shopping. I went way overboard, but I don't really care. I always go crazy when I go on vacation, so it was justified. Now, I will save until I go away again. This post was so long, and I'm sorry. I just love documenting everything, and I know you fashion-obsessed people like me out there would appreciate it.
I just linked everything because this post would be 3x as long if I added pictures, so I hope that's okay!
