Product Review: Nars Cheek Kit

Thursday, February 6, 2014

I went to my local mall today and picked up a few things. I went into Sephora, which is so scary for me because every time I go in there I spend at least $100. Today, I was on a mission. This product was in my Currently Coveting post and I felt like I couldn't live another day without it. I know, I'm dramatic. So, I stepped into Sephora and immediately went to the Nars section. I picked up the beauty above, and just browsed a little. I walked around, and swatched some stuff. I swatched the Roman Holiday lipstick from Nars because I just ordered it offline. It's a lovely pink, and I seriously can't wait to wear it. I also swatched the new Urban Decay Naked lipglosses that just came out. Some were really pigmented, others were not. I liked one particular shade though, so I might have to go back and grab it. I can't remember what it was called though. Anyways, I looked at a couple more items and left solely with the cheek kit, which shocked me. After Sephora, I went into Nordstrom and picked up this bag. It's a pale pink color and is so large inside. I'm seriously obsessed with it. I'm also selling a couple of my bags on eBay, so it was justified.

Anyways! On to the main event, the cheek kit. As always, I'm seriously smitten with Nars packaging. It's so sleek. The trio comes with Devotee, Orgasm, and Laguna. Three cult favorites all in one little compact. So I started out with the highlighter (Devotee) and just highlighted my cheek-bones, under my brows, my chin, and down my nose. The powder gives your face a really nice sheen. It made my skin glow. I love the consistency and I can't wait to start using it daily. Next was Orgasm. I knew I would like this on my skin-tone. It gives my cheeks a really peachy glow and it has a touch of shimmer in there as well. I have the Super Orgasm illuminator and I use it religiously. The blush looked gorgeous along-side the highlighter. Lastly was Laguna. We all know how Laguna is. Everyone loves it. Everyone has it. Just like everyone else, I love it. It's the perfect shade to blend right into my cheek bones, my temples, alongside my nose, my cupids bow, and my jawline. I am trying really hard to learn how to contour, so it's a process. Also, I really wish I could have a video of myself trying this new product, for visual affect, but my camera is terrible. I also do not have a tripod or any sort of lighting system. Those things will be my next big purchase. A nice camera, a tripod and some nice lighting. If anyone has some suggestions, let me know!

To wrap it all up, the cheek kit was on point. I'm so glad Nars put this trio together. I can do my cheeks and face in just a couple of swipes. It also comes with a blush brush, which is awesome! Nars is by far my favorite beauty brand, and if you are thinking about trying this kit, go out and buy it. You will not regret it. Yes, it's a bit pricey (at $49) but you're paying for the quality. I'd much rather spend the money then buy crap from the drugstore (don't get me wrong, some drug-store stuff is great, but when it's going to be applied to my face, I stay strictly higher end.) If you have tried this kit, comment down below! I would love some feedback and to interact with whoever reads this! If there is anyone?!

Until Tomorrow,
