Feb Favorites

Here they are! It wasn't too hard to decide what products to put in this collage because I didn't go to crazy this month. I was sick for a week, and then I got my wisdom teeth out, so I haven't had a ton of energy lately. I've mostly been spending my time watching TV and trying to feel a bit better before spring break next week! I think I've blogged about most of these items in past posts. The H&M jacket has been my go-to for a while now. It's super big, super comfy and keeps my warm in this New England winter weather. It's heavy, and has plenty of room for layers underneath, and for $80 it was a total steal. I've also been living in that APC knit as well. I've been pairing it with some boyfriend jeans and a pair of ankle boots. It's been sort of a uniform lately, but I don't hate it.

I've also been in love with my French Connection tote! I scored it at Nordstrom, and surprisingly, it was only a little over $100. The peach color is beautiful and I love how it has a shoulder strap. I've also really gotten into Fekkai products since I got a sample in my Birchbox. The olive oil shampoo and conditioner make my hair so soft. The 8 ounce bottle are definitely on the pricier side, but with my thick hair, the few extra bucks are worth fresh hair that lasts for days. I've also been smitten with the H&M necklace I picked up a couple weeks ago as well. I literally can pair it with any outfit. From a button down with a cardigan, to a simple t-shirt with sneakers. It's so versatile and it's a pretty sturdy metal for the $10 I spent on it! Another favorite is my new Nars Roman Holiday lipstick. I've been wearing it constantly. It's seriously the perfect shade of pink, and it looks great with a pink cheek and just a touch of mascara. I've been all about a bare face lately, so this pop of color looks great! Last but not least, my new Grey City boots. They were definitely a splurge, but when I saw them, I knew I needed them. I didn't previously own a pair of grey boots, and these were calling to me. I love the block heel, and the suede back. I wore them today with some J Brand black jeans, a H&M silk white blouse, with a Target grey pullover on top, and it looked great. The boots definitely gave my outfit an extra edge, and I can't wait to style them differently!

Hopefully my March favorites will be a tad better,  since I didn't have much to choose from this month. What are some of your February favorites?

MAC Purchases

Friday, February 28, 2014

So, I was browsing MAC.com today, and was browsing the lipsticks. I've been seeing a lot of MAC nudes out and about and was drawn instantly. I don't wear lipsticks 24/7, but I do love wearing some color here and there. I browsed a little online and was looking up reviews on different MAC nude lipsticks. I came across pretty much the same five shades that people seem to gravitate towards. Henceforth, I picked up Myth and Hue. I also picked up Coral Bliss because let's be real, I'm completely obsessed with any lip shade that is coral colored. I also picked up some more Mineralize Foundation because I was running a bit low....

Anyways, as soon as I get them in, I'll definitely do a review! I am also leaving for Florida on Thursday, and I need some sort of a checklist. I'm freaking out!

TheRealReal

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

Greetings!

Currently: posting from my bed with two bags of ice on my face, some stitches in my mouth, and 4 less teeth. Yea, I'm in a shit ton of pain, but did that stop me from buying things online to ease the pain a little? Absolutely not!

I was just browsing the web, and remembered that TheRealReal was having a 40% off sale. TheRealReal is a consignment website. Girls (or guys) turn in their old (usually contemporary or designer) clothing that they don't want anymore, and it's sold at a discount to new homes! Everything that is posted on the website is verified, and authenticity is guaranteed. Sometimes there are some imperfections with the clothing, but when you are getting them at a huge discount, I don't mind a little pilling or a bit of discoloration.

So, anyways, I scurried on over and picked up a few things......

Therealreal

I'm still in shock with how good of deals I got. The pumps alone retail for $725, and I bought them for $87. Yea, they're used, but who cares? They're beautiful, and everything is cleaned obviously. I can't wait to wear these bad boys in Florida! I also can't wait to wear everything else, obviously.  I'm in shock over the A.L.C top! $30! I bet it retails for $250! If you guys have not checked out TheRealReal yet, I suggest you do so!

I've Been Bad.

Monday, February 24, 2014

Yes, I haven't posted in over a week. I've been so sick. I moved from my bed this week to go to school (against my will) and to go to work (also against my will). I went to the doctor's on Wednesday and they told me that I have strep throat. Then I went to the dentist on Thursday and told me I needed my wisdom teeth out, so that's happening tomorrow. I have been in such pain with my teeth coming in that my diet consists of ice cream and liquids. I haven't had the energy to post at all.

I've been keeping up with fashion weeks through twitter though, and instead of a Crave or Save, I thought I would post some of my favorite looks so far....

Marni

Missoni

3.1 Phillip Lim

10 Crosby Derek Lam

This obviously isn't close to everything I loved, but these were some favorites. There were so many shows, so it's hard to go through and sort them all. I might post some more favorite tomorrow since I'll be bored and in severe pain! Wahoo!

Need Supply

Friday, February 14, 2014

I love Need Supply. They have the most beautiful clothing. I love their selection of shoes, their knick-knacks, and just everything else.
Need Supply
I just picked out a couple of things that I've been lusting over. I want the shoes badly. They would look amazing with jeans, shorts, skirts, whatever. I just bought those boots though, so for now, it's a no-go. I also love the little baubles they have.

I can't decide if I want these pants or not on the model. I have so many pairs of slouchy pants and never wear them. Some, I just don't like because of the way they hang on me, or if the bottoms are too loose.

Anyways, let me know what you think!

XOXO

Thursday, February 13, 2014

Well, I could do a product review, or I could talk about Valentine's Day, and I choose the latter. I've always loved the idea of Valentine's day. I love the pink and red displays in store windows. I love the holiday-oriented clothing that comes out. I love websites that have "Valentines Day Wishlists". I love it all, and I am obsessed with the idea of love. The feeling when you look at someone, and you just can't seem to think of anyone else you'd rather be with. Sure, there are ups and downs, but usually, things always work out for the best. I also love the idea of dressing up nice, and going to a nice romantic dinner with your significant other just because you can. Unfortunately, this Valentines Day, my boyfriend has to work. I'm a little upset over it, but we are celebrating on Monday. I'm just hoping he remembers to buy me flowers, because that's seriously all I want. I just wanna know i'm being thought about, if that makes any sense. I guess I need something tangible to tell me. It makes better sense in my head. It doesn't when I say it out loud. Anyways, I'm currently reading this book called "Loosing It" and it's pretty darn good. I recommend it.

I have been so disgustingly lazy these past couple of days. Here in Boston, we've been getting some major snow, and all my professors have decided to have tests all within a week of each other, so I've been struggling. Gossip Girl has also been taking a lot of my time.

I just hope I can pull myself together to make a decent post tomorrow, because this one was terrible.

Lack Of Inspiration

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

I feel like I've already hit a dry spell. Sometimes my posts are super boring and I wouldn't expect anyone to read them, not even myself. I know today is Currently Coveting, but I can't seem to think of anything I really want. I'm trying to be happier with what I already have. I do have everything I want. I have a supportive family, great friends, and a loving boyfriend (sometimes) (just kidding love ya bub) Anyways, I guess instead of Currently Coveting, I'll talk about one of my favorite clothing brands ever, and that would be Vince.
Vince

Ok, they're a little pricey, but I usually buy most of my pieces on sale, and I get a great deal. They are everything I love in a brand. Their pieces are CLASSICS. You can never go wrong buying a Vince piece. I have a ton of their silk shirts, sweaters and t-shirts. The quality is not comparable. It's indescribable. I want that leather jacket on the left so bad. They have very basic pieces, but they are top of the line. I've never been upset with anything I've received from Vince. I also have a couple of pairs of sandals from them, and a pair of their Nina flats. These pieces I just picked out from the website. They just have amazing color schemes to every collection they come out with, and I'm constantly wanting more.

If you want to buy me a gift, Vince does no wrong.
Also, if you are intrigued, you can go to their website by going to www.vince.com

Outfit Of The Day

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

So it's Tuesday, and I neeeeed to study for some tests coming up this week and next week. I can never seem to focus though, watching Gossip Girl instead. Anyways, this is gonna be short and sweet since I'm a tad tired today.
OOTD

I labeled everything just so I didn't have to explain down below, haha. This was perfection at school today. Even though my school is a state school and everybody was probably looking at me weird, wondering why I am not wearing yoga pants and Uggs. Anyway, until tomorrow.....

(P.S I can't believe I bought those boots last night. Also, I got a Triangl bikini in the mail and it's perfection. Check out my Instagram widget to see my latest posts!)

HOLY CRAP

Monday, February 10, 2014

I just bought the most perfect boots I've ever seen
They are everything I've ever wanted. That's all.

Spend Or Save?

Monday, February 10, 2014

So it's Monday. I had an extremely uneventful weekend at work, and now I'm sitting here thinking about ways to get out of my 4:30 class this evening....

I actually have a couple of things to talk about in this post, since I haven't updated since Friday. I was browsing through some beauty channels on Youtube and came across this channel I really liked. This girl, I kid you not, must spend thousands on make-up. Every new palette, every new collection, of every make-up brand ever, she has it. It's incredible. She'll literally spend like $250 on a new NARS collection like it's nothing. That said, I was incredibly jealous watching her videos. But, one of her newer videos is a review on the new NARS collaboration with Nordstrom. I was looking through the collection and picked up two things. I got their Final Cut illuminator in Adelaide, which is exclusive to the site. It's a beautiful shimmery pink. I have another illuminator in Orgasm, and I love it. I also got a new lip pencil (because I'm completely smitten with them). I got the shade Villa Lante. I have a serious problem with buying pink lip products, and this was no exception. It's a great shade, and I can't wait to wear it.

On another note, the Peter Pilotto collection for Target was released yesterday and I also picked up a couple of things. I'm not a huge fan of crazy prints, which is what Peter Pilotto does, but a few things caught my eye....
Peter Pilotto for Target

As you can see, his prints are nuts. The dresses were way to busy for me. I am more of a "wear all basics and dress it up a little" girl. I rarely buy trendy items, because I never end up wearing them. It's all about the classics with me. Furthermore, these pieces are subtle, and totally wearable. This bikini is great. I love the elongated top, and the print has a cool vibe. I don't mind wearing crazy swim-suits, because their just swim-suits. The crop top will be great to wear to the beach when I got to Florida in March, and the shorts were seriously too cute to pass up. There was a blazer that had a matching print, but it had an ugly green lapel, so I didn't buy it.

But, onto the main event!

Spend or save

Now, I know anyone I know isn't looking to spend $1700 on a bag. I mean, I wish I was in that position, but it's absolutely not realistic. Proenza has always been a favorite of mine. They make classic and timeless bags and clothes. I want a PS1 more than anything, and hopefully one day I'll achieve that goal. For now, we can always stick with good alternatives. I was browsing through Asos because I will be ordering some beach cover-ups for Florida. I looked through some bags and this immediately stood out. Clearly, it's extremely similiar to the PS1, and it's literally a small fraction of the price. I also adore the scalloped edging. Who says a good black bag has to break the bank?

Also, I'm currently watching seasons 1-6 of Gossip Girl on Netflix, and it's slowly taking over my life.

Changing It Up

Friday, February 7, 2014

So on Monday, I said every Friday I would write a blog on lifestyle. I don't even know what that means. Actually, right before this, I googled "good blogs to write on lifestyle". Yea. So, I guess since Friday is an awesome day, it can just be for whatever I feel like posting. I won't have a set schedule or post. I mean, I shouldn't really have a schedule at all, but it's the only thing that keeps me on regiment. I need to just think and be like "Oh! I need to put up a Currently Coveting today!" If I don't have a schedule, I'll just say "Oh, I have no ideas. I'm not posting." So, in turn, Fridays can be sort of like a creative day for me.

I've been wanting to post about Etsy for quite some time now. So I think I'll do that. Etsy is AWESOME. It's a website, for those who don't know, for just people to sell handmade stuff. I've gotten so many things off of Etsy.

Clockwise from top left:
1. This MacBook sticker was so refreshing to receive. I was so sick of solid color cases and wanted something different. If you want to change it up a little, the store I purchased this from can be found here.
2. This print was actually gifted to me by my best friend. It looks great in my room, and is a nice contrast against my minty walls. Check out this shop. Her stationary, gift wrap, and prints are amazing!
3. Oh, how I love my tassel garland. The shop I got it from is SO backordered, so this took about a month to receive. It was so worth the wait though. They have a variety of different colors and sizes. Check them out here.
4. How I love these clothing hangers. They are so beautiful and crafted to perfection. I have boughten a variety of items from this shop. Plenty of hangers, and even little cute hair ties that the owner crafts. She also sells a ton of prints as well. Check her out here!
5. These card stock calendars were one of my favorite purchases ever! I turned them into a big 2014 cork-board calendar for my room, and I love it so much. It looks great in my room, and the prints on each card are so adorable. Check out the shop here!
6. Last but not least, these stacking rings are awesome! I ordered these so long ago, and seriously haven't taken them off once. I wear them on my middle finger with my Catbird black onyx ring. They are so affordable and dainty. Check out the shop here!

Product Review: Nars Cheek Kit

Thursday, February 6, 2014

I went to my local mall today and picked up a few things. I went into Sephora, which is so scary for me because every time I go in there I spend at least $100. Today, I was on a mission. This product was in my Currently Coveting post and I felt like I couldn't live another day without it. I know, I'm dramatic. So, I stepped into Sephora and immediately went to the Nars section. I picked up the beauty above, and just browsed a little. I walked around, and swatched some stuff. I swatched the Roman Holiday lipstick from Nars because I just ordered it offline. It's a lovely pink, and I seriously can't wait to wear it. I also swatched the new Urban Decay Naked lipglosses that just came out. Some were really pigmented, others were not. I liked one particular shade though, so I might have to go back and grab it. I can't remember what it was called though. Anyways, I looked at a couple more items and left solely with the cheek kit, which shocked me. After Sephora, I went into Nordstrom and picked up this bag. It's a pale pink color and is so large inside. I'm seriously obsessed with it. I'm also selling a couple of my bags on eBay, so it was justified.

Anyways! On to the main event, the cheek kit. As always, I'm seriously smitten with Nars packaging. It's so sleek. The trio comes with Devotee, Orgasm, and Laguna. Three cult favorites all in one little compact. So I started out with the highlighter (Devotee) and just highlighted my cheek-bones, under my brows, my chin, and down my nose. The powder gives your face a really nice sheen. It made my skin glow. I love the consistency and I can't wait to start using it daily. Next was Orgasm. I knew I would like this on my skin-tone. It gives my cheeks a really peachy glow and it has a touch of shimmer in there as well. I have the Super Orgasm illuminator and I use it religiously. The blush looked gorgeous along-side the highlighter. Lastly was Laguna. We all know how Laguna is. Everyone loves it. Everyone has it. Just like everyone else, I love it. It's the perfect shade to blend right into my cheek bones, my temples, alongside my nose, my cupids bow, and my jawline. I am trying really hard to learn how to contour, so it's a process. Also, I really wish I could have a video of myself trying this new product, for visual affect, but my camera is terrible. I also do not have a tripod or any sort of lighting system. Those things will be my next big purchase. A nice camera, a tripod and some nice lighting. If anyone has some suggestions, let me know!

To wrap it all up, the cheek kit was on point. I'm so glad Nars put this trio together. I can do my cheeks and face in just a couple of swipes. It also comes with a blush brush, which is awesome! Nars is by far my favorite beauty brand, and if you are thinking about trying this kit, go out and buy it. You will not regret it. Yes, it's a bit pricey (at $49) but you're paying for the quality. I'd much rather spend the money then buy crap from the drugstore (don't get me wrong, some drug-store stuff is great, but when it's going to be applied to my face, I stay strictly higher end.) If you have tried this kit, comment down below! I would love some feedback and to interact with whoever reads this! If there is anyone?!

Until Tomorrow,

Favorite Jewelry Site...

Wednesday, February 5, 2014

My favorite jewelry site by far is Catbird. They are based out of Brooklyn, and they hand-make the most beautiful pieces I've ever seen. I have a couple of items from there, and I can't wait to get more.

They have a ton of cute stacking rings, and statement rings as well. Their jewelry is seriously one of a kind and I haven't really found any other line quite like their products. Some are obviously pricy, due to the fact that they are either 18K gold or have diamonds in them. The stacking rings are affordable though, and they always have promotions going on!
catbird

I just found some rings I really liked and threw them in here as well. I actually have the black-onyx tear drop ring and I wear it every single day. I also love the cashmere boy shorts (might make an appearance on Currently Coveting) and the cat-eye sleeping mask is an essential.

Currently Coveting

Wednesday, February 5, 2014

I can't believe it's only 9:45 here on the East Coast. I feel like it must be at least 1 PM. I've been up since 8, since my boyfriend kept hounding me to get up! He did make me a nice breakfast sandwich though, so it all worked out. Well, today I have a snow day to relax and catch up on some work since we're currently in the process of getting about a foot of snow here in Massachusetts. Since it's Wednesday, here's what I'm currently coveting....

coveting

Clockwise from top left:
1. A pair of shades from Valley Eyewear. They are a brand out of Australia, and I want this pair so bad. I do not own a pair of peachy pink shades, and these are perfect.
2. This coat is currently on sale at H&M for $75 and I literally might just order it today. It's looks so comfy and cozy, and I love anything sherpa.
3.The new Nars blush set. It comes with a blush, laguna, and a highlighting powder. It also comes with a brush as well. This is perfect in every way imaginable, and I might order this today as well, haha.
4. This bikini is EVERYTHING. It's from Marysia Swim and it screams to me in every way. I love the scalloped edges. I love the pale blue color. I love the dainty feel. I need it.
5. Nars lipstick in the shade Roman Holiday. It's the perfect pink, and I tend to gravitate towards pink lip colors. This would be a perfect addition to my collection.
6&7. Fekkai Glossing shampoo and conditioner. I recently got some samples of these in my birchbox and have become OBSESSED. They make my hair so tame and shiny. I washed my hair two days ago and it's still so soft. I can't wait to order full sizes.
8. This is a Bloom Theory camera strap. They makes THE best camera straps I have ever seen. They are so funky and amazing. This rose one is beautiful. I love them.
Once I receive the Nars blush set, I will do a product review on it! Until tomorrow!

OOTD

Tuesday, February 4, 2014

I can not, for the love of Christ, figure out Polyvore at all. I try to clip pictures from other websites and about 95% of the time, it says "not clippable". Like don't make me attach a clipboard to my tabs, just to tell me it won't work. Anyways, I wanted to make a collage of what I have on today, but I can't even find half the items on websites.

This is what I have on today though. I'm obsessed with this fitted coat from H&M. I searched on their website for like 20 minutes, and couldn't find it anywhere. I bought it recently though, so it should still be in stores. I also have on a button-up navy blouse from H&M as well. It has two large pockets on the front, and the length is perfect. The necklace is also from H&M. I'm obsessed with it, and I literally don't want to take it off. As you can tell, I did a little bit of an H&M haul recently. They recently re-designed the one on Newbury Street in Boston, and I couldn't resist. The merchandising was beautiful. To pair it off, I have on a pair of Levi skinnies, and a pair of Forever 21 ankle booties. The outfit is stylish and pretty comfy. Obsessed.

Spend Or Save?

Monday, February 3, 2014

I want to do like different little posts that coordinate to the day of the week. Like maybe Spend Or Save on Mondays, Outfits of the Day on Tuesday, Currently Coveting on Wednesday, Product Review on Thursday and a post on Lifestyle on Friday? I can't post on weekends since I work, and I know for a fact that it's going to be so tough to post five days a week, but I need a regiment. I need something to keep me on course.

So it's Monday....

Untitled #5

I love both of these knits. The creamy color can soften any outfit. Paired with some boyfriend jeans and loafers, or you can dress it up with a skirt and a cute pair of heels. Cream knits are essential to any wardrobe. The one of the left is an APC knit. It's made of cashmere and mohair, which is why it's on the pricier side. If you are looking to save a couple of bucks, this H&M alternative is perfect! It has a great boat neck and is so versatile. Either way, cream knits are a must!
