January Favorites.

Friday, January 31, 2014

As this month comes to an end, it's safe to say I'm glad it's over. I have always absolutely hated the month of January. Yea, it's a bit pessimistic, but I honestly have no reason to like it. I live in Boston. It's cold, gloomy, snowy and just not a good time. I'm constantly wishing for warmer weather. I also had to go back to school a few weeks ago, which did not make me a happy camper. So, enough of the rambling. Here are this month's favorites. I feel as if I'm getting more and more into make-up and it's sort of scaring me. Not only am will I be spending on clothes, but now beauty products as well. Basically setting me up for bankruptcy.

January Favorites
(clockwise from top left)

1. Aesop hand lotion. Great for the winter months. Keeps my hands nice and soft with a sweet scent.
2. Nars lip pencil in Bolero. This peachy shade will be perfect for Spring. I can not wait to wear it.
3. Nars creamy concealer. This is probably the best concealer I've ever used. Highlights my face and covers up imperfections.
4. Claire Vivier mini calf-hair satchel. I love this. My boyfriend got it for me for Christmas, and it's perfect. It's a great size, well-made and I love the animal print.
5. Nars illuminator in super-orgasm. This gives my face a rosy glow when mixed in with my foundation.
6. Acure Argan Oil has literally saved my skin this winter. It moisturizes and keeps my skin elastic.
7. Vince sandals. I can not WAIT to wear these when I go to Florida for spring break. I am already picturing different outfits I can wear them with.
8. Dr. Hauschka's lip balm. This is the only lip balm I've ever bought that doesn't need to be re-applied every 5 minutes.
9&10. These stationary sets are from SugarPaperLA. They are simply and sweet. I love sending people letters, so these were perfect.
11. Weleda wild rose deodorant. This smells amazing. It's a spray-on deodorant, which has taken a little getting used too, but I love it. It's also organic!

Well, those are what I'm crushing on this month. What are some things you can't get enough of this month?

Currently Coveting.

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

I hate being on my laptop for too long, because it only means one thing, my urge to online shop goes from about 20% to about 160%. I have such a love/hate relationship with Youtube because I watch fashion bloggers do haul/favorites videos and all of a sudden I absolutely 100% need everything they showcase. It's a sick obsession. I used to have so much money saved up, then I became OBSESSED with fashion and having brand names. I have just slowly watched my bank account dwindle to almost nothing. I work at a restaurant, and since it's winter, it isn't as busy. It has taken everything in me to save my minimal paycheck to pay for my car, my car insurance, and my credit card bills. Don't get me wrong, I shop on Etsy here and there, and maaaaybe bought a couple of other things, but I really am trying so hard to not spend money. The goal isn't even to save anymore, it's too not blow everything I have.

So, that stated, I try to stay off the computer for long periods of time. Obviously, I have a two hour break between classes. I have no choice but to sit here on my laptop if I don't wanna die of boredom. I was watching a fashion blogger's haul yesterday (sigh) and came across the site Markkit. They have such cute pieces at extremely affordable prices. Some things I dragged into my cart (just to make me feel better)
This set is literally perfect. Definitely need it for my Spring break trip coming up to Lauderdale. It will look killer with my new Vince sandals! This is literally Alexander Wang for $30. It will also be perfect for Florida. I could wear it with some cut-offs and a loose white T over it. I already have a nail bracelet from Stella and Bow, but I wanted another style to clash with it on my wrist. For $22 you can't really go wrong.

What are some things you are currently coveting?!

Winter White

Monday, January 27, 2014

As I sit here in my marketing management and strategy class, I wonder to myself, why do people think it's weird to wear white jeans in the winter time? I have on a pair of J Brand white skinnies today, and people are staring. Am I wrong? Or is everyone else?

I love wearing white jeans in the colder months. It's different from the very boring and predictable blue jean or black jean. They liven up any outfit, and they make me think of the warmer weather I'm constantly hoping for. I wear them casually though. Today I paired my jeans with some gray J.Crew flats, a lilac blouse from H&M, and a chambray from Zara. Simple and casual.

On another note, I've been completely smitten with the OneTruffle pouches that are popping up everywhere.

They are perfect! I have the light blue one. I use it for everything. I keep all my travel essentials in there for everywhere I go. They aren't that expensive either. I got the largest one for $38. I love how they are clear, so you can see exactly what is in the pouch and grab whatever you need instantly. I will definitely be buying another in the future! I have most of my to-go make-up essentials in mine, some hand lotion, some Tide-to-go and other must-haves.

I'm trying to keep up with this! Hopefully I stick to my goal.

Until next time!

One More Thing....

Friday, January 24, 2014

I wish people actually read this, because then they could give me insight on what they want to hear more about. I like talking about fashion, beauty and design. That's why I am here. So if you're reading this, PLEASE leave a comment and give me some ideas. I mean I could copy every other blogger in the world and just do outfit posts, but I want more depth than that. I like doing more than just saying what I'm wearing or what I bought yesterday.

But to be totally cliche, I have something....

The Row

These babies. These sneakers are by Superga X The Row. They are what I've been wearing for the past couple of days. They are super comfy and pretty stylish. I saw them on The Sartorialist a couple of weeks back, and thought they were perfect. They are relaxed, but look put together at the same time. I'm currently wearing them with a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans I picked up at Target, an equipment long sleeved tee, and a chunky Vince knit. I have the black corduroy ones. I probably searched for an hour trying to find ones in my size, and that weren't $300. I finally found them on Barney's website for $130, which isn't terrible. If you want a versatile high-end sneaker, look no further....

Beside Myself.

Friday, January 24, 2014

This is so embarrassing. I always say to myself, wow, I would love to have a fashion blog. I start one, then post like 3 times, and it's over with. I don't know why I do it. I mentioned all of this stuff in my last post. I do not have a photographer, and I literally don't have time to go shoot four different outfits a day and post them later. A blog is a full-time job. I wish I got paid for it like other bloggers do, like Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere or Chiara from The Blonde Salad.

Those bloggers get sent a lot of stuff for free, so it's not easy keeping up with the elite. I was reading an article the other day about how it's almost impossible to keep up with fashion bloggers. They get paid for posting and advertising about different brands, and get sent a lot of pieces to advertise. I mean, I'm not whining because I don't get paid (that would be ridiculous) but it's definitely a motivator. I've been thinking a lot about this blog the past week or so, and I decided I really want to keep up with it. It seriously does not fit into my schedule at all, but I really want to give it another go. I need a creative outlet and sometimes Instagram doesn't cut it. People definitely get pissed off or annoyed at me because all I do is post pictures of clothes and/or make-up.

I've actually really gotten into make-up/beauty routines recently. I've been blowing my paychecks on Nars and Mac products like it's my job. I love it. Some stuff I picked up yesterday......

nars

I got the Super Orgasm Illuminator from Nars. When mixed with my foundation, it gives my face a rosy glow, which makes me look alive in the morning for classes. Also picked up a new concealer. I got the Vanilla shade. I wasn't too impressed with the Mac one I was using, so I decided to give Nars a shot. I was also looking at lip shades. I have about 6 of these lip pencils. They are my favorite things EVER. I was immediately drawn to this shade when I saw it and had to have it. It's called Bolero.  It's very neutral  and peachy. It looks great with just some mascara on, and a pink cheek.

Also, I've been really into Etsy lately. I'll have to post more about it when I have some more time.

Till who knows,
